The brief devised was to develop a design response that acknowledged the human Body, Environment and Culture in which the site is situated.
My overarching concept was to design mixed use facility which embodied a sense of movement within it's form, responding to the landscapes existing contours and the adaptive reuse of existing buildings; structures were internally retrofitted to meet their new uses.
The site's precarious position within a wetland basin and it's vulnerability to flooding meant that program had to be strategically organised above the flood plain which is interconnected via dynamic boardwalks; allowing users to traverse the facility with a continuously changing perspective, regardless of weather conditions.
